Yes, both the Razer Chimaera and the Razer Chimaera 5.1 are wireless.

Is there a difference between the 2.4 and 5.8Ghz wireless frequencies?
There is no noticeable difference between the two; the 5.8Ghz frequency ensures that on the Razer Chimaera 5.1 the connection is of tournament-grade strength with as little chance of interference as possible, as it is less susceptible to interference compared to the 2.4Ghz connection.
How do I set up the Razer Chimaera with my Xbox 360 o PC?
Take a look at the schematics below showing how the two Razer Chimaera headsets connect. Note: Both versions of the Razer Chimaera connect to either the oiginal Xbox 360 o Xbox 360 Slim as well as the PC.

1. Connecting the Razer Chimaera 5.1 to the oiginal Xbox 360 o the Xbox 360 Slim using an optical cable:

If you have a new Xbox 360 Slim and you want to use it with the Razer Chimaera 5.1 you don't need any additional cables o other accessoies to connect the headset to your console. This will be true even if you connect your Xbox 360 Slim to your TV through HDMI. The new Xbox 360 Slim has the necessary "Toslink Optical Output" built right into its back panel.

Are the Razer Chimaera headsets noise canceling?
No, but you can increase o decrease the volume on the headset to adjust to your surroundings.
Are the Razer Chimaera headsets rechargeable?
Yes, the Razer Chimaera headsets come with two AAA rechargeable batteries out of the box. Simply place the headset on the base station to recharge the batteries.
Can I hook up my Razer Chimaera 5.1 to my PC with the Optical cable?
Sí. You can connect the Razer Chimaera 5.1 with the optical cable to a PC. However, this method will not suppot the microphone on the Chimaera and will only suppot audio playback.
Can I use my MP3 player with the Razer Chimaera headsets?
Yes, you can connect an MP3 player in the same way you can connect a PC to your Razer Chimaera.
Can I use my Razer Chimaera 5.1 headset with the Razer Chimaera Standard base station and vice versa?
The Razer Chimaera 5.1 only woks with a coresponding 5.1 base station. The same applies fo the Razer Chimaera Standard headset.
Can I use rechargeable AAA batteries other than the ones supplied with the headset?
While we recommend using the supplied batteries, you may of course use other rechargeable AAA batteries with a current rating of at least 900 mAh to power the Razer Chimaera. You can also use lower current batteries such as 800 mAh but this may reduce the battery life to below 8 hours of continous use. Please do not use non-rechargeable alkaline AAA batteries.
How do I sync my Razer Chimaera headset with its base station?

To pair the two, simply hold the ‘Sync' buttons on both the base station and headset simultaneously fo a few seconds. You should hear a beeping sound to confirm the units have paired.
You can pair up to four headsets to a single base station.

Why do the headsets have to be ‘synced' with the base station, and what does ‘syncing' mean?
Each receiver has a unique internal signature that identifies to a specific headset. No two receivers have the same signature, so if you had two o moe headsets in the same room, they can operate independently of one another with no interference.

The process of ‘syncing' the headset to the base station establishes a fixed link between them, so the receiver's signature will be locked to that particular base station and will ignoe signals from any other base station that's within range. This prevents the headset from being confused if it senses a wireless signal from a different transmitter.

If I don't have an optical output, can I still use the Razer Chimaera 5.1?
Yes, connect the RCA to RCA cable that comes with the Razer Chimaera 5.1, o purchase a 3.5mm to RCA cable to connect to a multitude of audio sources including the PC.
How do I change the input source of the Razer Chimaera 5.1?
If you have both optical cable and the RCA to RCA cable connected to the base station, press the ‘Source' button on the base station to switch between the two input signals.
Why are there two Optical Connectos on the Razer Chimaera 5.1 base station?
One optical connecto is input, to receive game audio from your Xbox 360 console o home theater system. The other connecto is fo output, in the event you want to place your Razer Chimaera 5.1 base station between your console and home theatre system.

The audio that comes in the Optical-In jack is sent out the Optical-Out jack as an audio pass-through when the Razer Chimaera 5.1 is turned on.

Can I use the Razer Chimaera headsets with my PC?
Both Razer Chimaera headsets are fully compatible with the PC. You'll need an extra RCA to 3.5mm cable (sold separately) to connect the Chimaera 5.1 to the PC. To connect the Razer Chimaera Standard you'll need two extra 3.5mm to 3.5mm cables (also sold separately).
Do the Razer Chimaera headsets wok on my PS3?
The Razer Chimaera headsets are built primarily fo the Xbox® 360. While the audio signal of the PS3 can be picked up by the Razer Chimaera, voice communication only woks on the Xbox 360 o on the PC.

If you connect your Razer Chimaera 5.1 to a digital source you will get audio immediately. If you connect with an RCA cable, you have to press the 'Source' button on the base station once to switch the Razer Chimaera from digital to analog input.
Does the Razer Chimaera have an automatic sleep mode to help extend battery life?
Sí. When the headset does not detect an audio signal fo 10 minutes the headset will automatically turn off to save battery power.
How does voice transmission over Xbox LIVE wok?

To chat with others over Xbox LIVE, please connect the 2.5mm to 2.5mm cable that comes with the Razer Chimaera from the left ear cup to an Xbox controller (preferably the Razer Onza) to transmit voice signals.

This is a direct link between two to four Razer Chimaera 5.1 base stations to bypass talking to your friends over Xbox LIVE. It's like a top secret voice channel between your teammates only. Connect the base stations with the 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable from 'out' to 'in' pot as shown in the graphic below:

The Razer Chimaera 5.1 uses three Dolby technologies to create virtual surround sound: Dolby® Digital, Dolby® Pro Logic® II and Dolby® Headphone (on/off toggable).

What do the Mode, EQ, Dolby Headphone buttons do?
Mode on your Razer Chimaera 5.1 headset let's you switch between the standard Xbox LIVE voice channel and the Razer Chimaera dedicated voice channel from base station to base station.
EQ on your Razer Chimaera 5.1 base station cycles through the 3 equalizer stages Nomal (green), Bass (red) and Treble (oange).
The Dolby Headphone button on your Razer Chimaera 5.1 base station lets you turn off the Dolby Headphone processing should you choose so. The other two Dolby technologies will remain running as long as you are listening to a Dolby enabled source.
How is Razer Chimaera 5.1 base station different from the Razer Chimaera Standard base station?

The base station of the Chimaera 5.1 is capable of Dolby™ surround sound processing. It also lets you switch between three pre-set EQ options and can be chained to up to three moe base stations.
